Our Story
WHO IS PURPOSE LIVE?
Founded by the dynamic duo Jason and Skylar Ferris, Purpose Live was born from a shared love of music and meaningful impact, both onstage and off. They moved to Tennessee in 2022 and launched what’s become a trusted resource for artists and churches looking to elevate their stage presence and build genuine connections with their audiences.
OUR VISION
We want to transform the live experience for performers and their audiences. From the seasoned artist headlining arenas to indie performers playing intimate coffee shop shows, from small church praise teams to large worship bands—we work with all performers to help them reach their full potential on stage.
WHY PURPOSE LIVE?
Many artists dedicate endless hours to honing their musical skills and crafting the perfect songs, but the art of connecting with an audience is often overlooked. Purpose Live seeks to fill this critical gap by teaching performers the heart of a truly memorable performance. We believe that every moment on stage should be intentional, creating a connection that goes beyond the surface and fosters genuine relationships.

Jason and Skylar crossed paths as touring musicians in August 2014. They were dating by 2015, with Jason producing Skylar’s live shows, and married in May of 2017. This started their journey of full-time touring with Christian pop/rock band Bread of Stone, working production events with BNY Production, and expanding their collaborations.
Purpose Live launched in 2022. What started as live show producing and coaching has grown into something much bigger—helping artists transform every facet of their performance.

Jeff first teamed up with Jason and Skylar as a scriptwriter and on-air talent adviser for The Jason Ferris Show (radio show) from 2015-2018. Today, he remains a key collaborator, serving as the editor behind Purpose Live blog posts, offering invaluable insight and inspiration to artists and churches.
Outside of Purpose Live, Jeff has published several books, including [book title] with Joshua Tree Publishing. His work has been featured in countless newspaper articles, magazines, blogs, autobiographies, and more.

Matthew brings an incredible range of gifts to the Purpose Live team. A talented musician and skilled audio engineer, he’s spent years working in both live event and church production scenes. When he’s not spending time with family, you’ll find him behind the soundboard, installing systems, or creating seamless show advances for artists, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
